Estimated Trip Cost
 

I searched and could not find anything about this.

I created a trip on a recent vacation in order to help split the gas costs.

aCar tells me the estimated cost of the trip is $508.63, all of that in Fill Ups.

When I explicitly add the fill ups myself I get a MUCH different number: $218.29

I read the FAQ regarding how total cost of a trip is calculated. It looks like to me the gas is being added twice, once as the actual amounts as well as an average amount.

This is a fairly new vehicle so the service costs are very low (a couple of oil changes only).

Is it really counting fuel twice? If it is, that makes the total cost useless.
If it is not counting fuel twice, where is the extra $290 coming from?
