Cool Renault
This may be old news but it's the first I've seen over here. Very cool looking and with 250hp or maybe even more it should be a LOT of fun.
Renault drops hints on hot new Renault Sport Clio | Evo |
It's new, it popped up on Renault's Facebook page earlier. Looks crazy, already have a soft spot for the Renaultsport Clio, then the Trophy came out with quicker shifts, better suspension and more power, and now this monster. One of the reasons the Renaultsport isn't selling well is because there's no manual gearbox, some of the Renault fans are fuming. Hopefully this will be full manual. The Renaultsport Megane and Clio are some of the fastest hot hatches around the Nurburgring too, they know how to set a fast car up, they are pure driving machines.

nice read :thumb: but will this only turn out to be a concept car?

Me likes, wonder what the MSRP will be

Its all over Renault's and ReanaultSport's Facebook page, so it must be official. It's probably going to be called a "Monaco" edition, and I'm assuming its going to cost around the £30,000 mark, which is about $45,000 USD. Occasionally Renault make a mad stripped out car, like the Megane R26R which had a roll cage, bucket seats with 6 point harnesses, no air con to save weight, Perspex rear windows and carbon fibre body panels too. I think the Clio will be similar.

Ok so it's called the RS16 and has the 2.0 litre turbo engine from the Megane with 275 bhp. It's to celebrate 40 years of Renaultsport, and has the same matt yellow paint as on Renault's Formula 1 car.

It is definitely a cool car. If it was available and I had unlimited "fun money" I'd definitely get one.

Couple of other cool upcoming Renaults I'm really liking the look of. The new Megane, Scenic, and Talisman. There will also be a diesel hybrid assist version of the Megane and the Scenic with a 100 MPG target economy figure.
|
Wow, 100mpg is an amazing goal. Even if it's UK adjusted to US it still beats anything by a long shot. I like all 3 of those. The last one looks like it could compete with BMW or Benz or any of the luxury sedan crowd.
|
Yea I think 100 MPG is around 82 US MPG. Yea the only trouble with French cars is the depreciation, they might be just as good as the German rivals, and a whole lot cheaper, but depreciation will be much steeper sadly.
