Boutique Vehicle Manufacturers

Electric powertrains are much easier to engineer than the complexity of an internal combustion engine. Because of that, I predict there will come a "tipping point" where off-the-shelf, electric powertrains will give birth to a lot of boutique vehicle manufacturers. Exhibit "A":

Boy that thing looks terrible. I much prefer the design of the MIA to be honest:

We're sound like the three bears in the Goldilocks tale.

- One says it's no good.
- The other says neither are any good.
- And, another says it's just right.

I'm not saying they are bad cars, just not lookers. I thought my ZX estate looked great, but not the hatch. However, i preferred the hatch for the far superior fuel economy. I considered "joke" cars like the Aixam, the terrible look of a car wouldnt stop me from having it.

I look at those, and all I see is this...

Just watched your video, Paul.

I would turn that into the Worlds Smallest RV (camper van).

Here's kinda what I'm talkin' about. KLD is a company that makes/provides OEMs with batteries, controllers, and electric motors. Except my vision is that they would ALSO provide the chassis upon which boutique coach builders can use as their platform.

They will not sell much with a terrible design though.
