Tire pressure is important but driving style weighs way above that. Taking it easy while accelerating and driving closer to the speed limit helps. I used to drive way over but old age and kids has slowed me down a bit and saving a few bucks. My Scan guage II has saved me money also by showing me what milage I am getting as I go. Some cars have that feature built in by mine did not come with any of that.

You've got me cracking up over here. I suppose I could blame old age, but I really don't see myself as that old at 38. I can't blame it on kids either since I don't have any. I agree with you completely though on the driving style. I've read quite a bit about the scan gauge II. That sounds and looks like an awesome gadget.

Yea I would really not call 5 to 7 over the speed limit slow but sometimes when I am trying to get that last few miles on a tank I will actually do the speed limit! LOL! When I was in College I drive like I stole it. But now days I just don't care. You are 38 but I am 41! LOL! I had to clear a engine code a few times this week with the Scan Gauge. That was another good feature that I like about it. My glowplugs are not working right now so I trip a code everymorning when it gets around freezing. The problem is my watertemp sensor and I have a new one to put in but the other trouble is just finding time to put it in.

My car calls for 32 psi cold. It doesn't say what temp cold is though. So during the winter I run at 35PSI and winter on my winter tires at 32PSI. This will also depend on tire size, weight of car, outside temp. my car weighs in at 3800lbs. So I want as little rolling resistance as possiable.
