im going to the track on thursday. anybody want to place some bets?

so you guys want to start placing your wages? not on what i run, on what the mpg will be for that tank!! :p

motor is a stock d16z6 from a civic ex with an ebay intake and a intake manifold spacer with the fitv blocked off. i dont know if ill be running open header or not, but i do have a completely stock civic cx exhaust, which is a pea shooter.

i will be driving up there with my normal rims tires, then swapping on the bfg drs while im there.

im looking to run a high 15... i know its not much but im also looking to get over 34.5mpg on the same tank. when i arrive at the track i will have a quarter tank of gas left in it since i will have traveled around 250 miles since the full tank fill up. anyway, those are my estimates and i could be totally off! keep in mind these will be quarter mile runs, probably 3-7 runs, NOT auto-x, auto-x consumes a lot more gas ;)

Haha, 20-21 mpg per tank, the lowest drdisco has ever gotten on his b18c5 crx was 19 mpg, a full tank of autocrossing and road racing, :p

The lowest tank I ever got

The lowest tank I ever got was 23.9mpg and that was when my car had no mods. I went 100+ for 40 miles.

Oh and my best 1/4 mile time was 15.7 that was with 75 shot, msd, intake. My car is auto.

Best Racing Mileage

The best racing mileage I've ever seen was a VW Golf Diesel converted to Biodiesel, overboosted, and fuel-pumped like mad. The race was a series of Rally Races and transits which totalled about 100 miles. While racing -- RACING, mind you -- it averaged 35 MPG. The driver and co-drivers were the best guys to talk to. Their goal was to prove that SVO can race and keep up. They finished around the middle of the pack, but not bad for a front-drive Diesel. Man that thing sounded great taking off -- like a jet engine (but like the old 707s with the black smoke and everything). Check it out here:

sooo... back on topic. any guesses guys? i filled up the tank today at sunoco. yet another variable for those who would even take it into consideration

n0rt0npr0 04-10-2006 12:28 PM

sunoco = E10

You filled up with E10 so I'll bet ya get 26mpg

thisisntjared 04-10-2006 12:37 PM

sunoco has e10 in southern nj??????? are you sure? do you know who does and who doesnt have it?? o man i hope your joking. i was averaging 34mpg on the e10 over the winter....

n0rt0npr0 04-10-2006 12:52 PM

~

what are you kidding?!?! Sunoco's been pushing E10 like its a godsend for the last four years all across the country?!

I'm sure. It's E10.

Also a rumor I heard recently...E10 gives BETTER highway mileage than regular 100% gasoline...

Interesting.

thisisntjared 04-10-2006 12:55 PM

i will never go to sunoco

i will never go to sunoco again, ever

that rumor is incorrect e10 gives much worse highway miles. look at my cars chart. you can see when i got off the winter blend, which is an ethanol blend required in nj for the winter by the epa
