SUGGESTION: Fuelly Website / MPG posting

The Fuelly website reports my MPG to be 46.2, which averages the data collected from 56 fillups.

During those 39 months, I have learned much and have refined my Hypermiling skills that my recent 4 fillups have been 51.62, 50.05, 51.46, and 51.33 MPG.

Would you say my MPG is 46.2 over 56 fillups or the more recent 50+ over 5 fillups?

When someone asks me, "What's your MPG?" I don't say, "46.2 over the past 56 fillups." I say, "I get about 51+ MPG." then watch their jaw drop.

Posting the MPG average of the last 5 fillups encourages better and better MPG behavior. It allows all the learning mistakes of earlier Fuelly membership to fall off the record as one develops better and better MPG driving techniques.

Thoughts?

I believe the banners are showing the last 10 fill ups.

Yes, it is only the last 10 fill-ups which are averaged for the Fuelly banner number. However, the Basic Stats show the average for ALL fill-ups.

The signature banners as seen below show the average of all your fuel ups, it's your dashboard that shows the last 10.

Yes, I just realised you are the only one who sees your own Dashboard!
