City Centre drive.

Today I had a run into the centre of Edinburgh and back. The city centre is a strictly enforced 20 mph zone and I feel it helps my fuel figures.
My day's mpg figure was 57.4 mpg (UK), for my morning trip to drop off and pick up my wife for work, a trip to the shops, then the trip to Edinburgh. A total of 62 miles.
All figures are from ScanGauge E.

20 MPH limit will help if you keep moving, usually city traffic is all stop go and that kills your economy. Not bad for urban driving, who knows what I would have got, probably late 20's early 30's lol.

I just leave a suitable gap ahead of me, to slowly move into, and that prevents a lot of the stops. I switch off at known long lights as well
On a level road I can creep along at 20 mph in 4th gear. That helps too.

Yea driving slowly, my GSI (gear shift indicator) will prompt me to shift into 4th no earlier than 26 MPH. 6th will be about 48 MPH. When driving hard, the GSI prompts you to shift for better performance, or when the Rev limiter is about to be hit.

If I had a GSI it wouldn't tell me to shift into 4th at 20 mph, but I do anyway!
