MPG and Distance Not Calculating Properly
Hi!
My MPG and Distance are not calculating properly. I have a BMW I3 REX so the MPG on some fill ups are some crazy high numbers, but I don't understand why the system can figure them out. Any fixes for this? Here is my car's stats: Rexlee (BMW i3) | Fuelly Thanks, Chris |
I think there is a MPG cap as fuelly wasn't designed for range extending/plug ins, as it doesn't track the electricity used, so can be misleading to others. No doubt they are working on a programme that does support them as they become more common and popular.

I think 299 mpg is the maximum the site can cope with.

Fuelly came to be as a way for people to research the fuel economy of a model other people were actually getting.
Ignoring the electric usage of a PHEV makes such info useless. |

Yes, I see that now. Certainly misread the meaning of your original post.

I've just fuelled up for the first time in nine months after covering 3402 miles with 26.58 litres of petrol in my PHEV Kia Niro. That's about 580 mpg, but Fuelly is showing no calculation.
Hopefully they'll sort this out soon. |
Don't see why they will. The guy who starts off and drives London to Edinburgh will have such radically different mpg from the guy with an identical car, who drives 10 miles a day and plugs in every night. The only way you can get a measure of the efficiency of any vehicle is by measuring ALL THE FUEL it uses over a measured mileage.
Two identical PHEV Kia Neros could easily get 40 mpg or 100,000 mpg, depending on electrical usage. Fuelly is not for PHEV or BEV users. |
Equivalent of me using gas central heating, but only telling people how much I spend on logs and coal on my open fire haha.
