I went to the University of Evansville. https://www.evansville.edu/

It was on a total of 2 city blocks in Indiana. They have the same "country" mentality of my home town. Next year, I think they should have 2,500 students, and they are considereing that a maximum target. Its nice going around school and seeing people you know. But I couldn't keep that darn B average...I missed it by .3 GPA. I dont really want to pay 5 more grand a year for the place. I could go back still, but I might get my basics (well, science for engineers...) finished basics near home.

Credit cards with "cash back" are a scam. The 3% or 4% that they are giving you doesn't equal the 10% or more you are paying for the borrowed money. I do have a credit card, but it is strictly for emergency. I have had it for 8 months and have not used it. I do have a large amount of loans, but I wont have to start paying interest on them until I am finished with school, so that is nice.

If you know how to use a credit card you can actually earn money by using your credit card. I only paid interest once and it was $9.26 because I didn't feel like transfering money to another card to pay off my balance the same month.

So far I have earned $88+ in the last 7 months. You know if you were to buy a new car and finance it with the bank or dealer you would pay a certain % anyway. My parents bought their new accord on a credit card, are paying 0% in interest and already have the title in hand.

Eh, I'm just not a big fan of spending money I don't have. I mean, I'll talk about purchasing things I can't afford but I don't like to borrow money, I have twice and both times I kicked my own *** for it, :p

Who said about spending money you don't have??? I only use my credit card up to to the point how much I have in my bank account. The only time I spend money I don't have is when it's an emergency. Like my pinion&rack.

I understand how you feel, but I use a debit card for that use, because I'm not going to spend what I don't have regardless, and I don't even really use it, it's good for online though.

Anyway, I don't want to give support to credit by having a credit card. Plus shop owners have to pay for you to use the credit card rather than cash, :(

Credit cards aren't a good idea if you are weak willed or are so tight on money you will find yourself short and have to pay interest as a result.

I have credit cards, and am currently unemployed/retired with no income at all except what I make gambling, but the balances get paid in full each time, and as he suggested, I get a 5% discount for gas, food, and medicine, and 1% for other things using my Chase card. When you get to where you have the confidence and self control that you can resist buying what you can't pay for, its the way to go.
