best FWD cargo van for full-time vanlife

Hello, everybody.

I've been a member of this site since 2014, but this is probably my first post. I'm looking to purchase a FWD cargo van that I will soon have converted into a camper van. I will also be using it to drive to and from work, until I get my motorcycle out of storage. Which cargo vans have the best fuel consumption? I will be using the van in snowy areas from time to time. I prefer not to purchase a high roof van so I can park it indoors when necessary. There are so many models out there, and cargo vans are lumped in with all of the cars on this website. Thanks in advance for your help.

Semper fidelis,
Frank

I don't know the commercial market that side of the pond too well, however I would suggest something that is European based. I noticed after the Fiat Chrysler merge, alot of rebadged Fiat vans being sold under the Dodge marque. I'd suggest small engine and diesel, my brother has a 2.2 twin turbo diesel Mercedes Vito which has plenty of power but can still manage 45-50 UK mpg on a good day, all depends on your budget and what's available there.

I just googled most fuel efficient van and surprise surprise my brothers van is number 1,although it looks like it's sold as the Metris over there:

I drove a FIAT Ducato for work, and it was great. I got good mpg with it.

Off the top off my head, in the US we have the Ford Transit Connect, Dodge Promaster City(a Fiat model), and Nissan NV200 for FWD cargo vans. I think everybody else just has full size, RWD cargo vans here.
