Hello there
Well hello, I am Murat from Istanbul. I decided to get a low burner after the 2.5 liter monster I drove for two years. Now I want to find out how to squeeze out the last drop. Looking forward to your teachings... |

Hello!
What kind of car is it? That may help with immediate advice. |
It's a Getz, silly.

I'm glad someone else thinks 2.5 is monstrous! We're not alone, :p Welcome welcome. |
A Hyundai
A Getz is a Hyundai. The new spec as they introduced it has a 1.4 DOHC engine rated at 97 HP. You can see a picture of it at Hyundai' s site... |
What a neat looking little
What a neat looking little car! Too bad they aren't selling them over here.
Looks like the economy average is 6.1 L/100 km (38 mpg US). Hopefully you'll do better than that. Good luck. |

Thank you. yes I like the little rascal too... If you visited the Hyundai site, you can see the pics of my previous vehicle which was a Starex 2.5 liter turbodiesel intercooled MPV. ( not sold in the US either) It was }:) when it came to guzzling diesel fuel. I was not much of a worrier of fuel saving till I discovered that it was guzzling 65 liters of fuel for a 400 km trip !!! ( approx 14 MPG !!!) It was only 14 mo. old and had clocked only 40K kms when I decided to dump it. I sold it without even bargaining with the buyer ! I managed to eek out a 4.8 lt/100kms up tilll now as a record. I do not exceed 80kph, use as high as possible gears without wracking the engine... And with the advice from you guys, I hope to see even lower than that... EDIT / ADDITION : Hey 95, I saw you are from Ala... I lived in Edmonton for 4 years... I love the province ! Hope to visit again some time in my lifetime... All the best !! |
