Hi guys, just to say Hi, my name is Tomislav, from Croatia, 37 years old, nickname Kova.

Few days back I got Yamaha FZ6N, enjoying my rides with friends.

Just to ask not to troll or open new topic, it asks % of City ride, for example for last ride I put 30%, which is about right, but now it says 70% highway, and I do not ride on Highways, but open road, didn't see that option.

As a fellow motorcyclist, I hear you on City vs highway vs backroad. Generally, I’ve found backroads are between city and highway from a fuel economy perspective. Think of it as highway is constant speed. City is stop and go. Backroads are slow for turns and speed up in the straights. Depending on how curvy the backroads are, the delta between corner speed and straightaway speed could be more or less.

What I do is count backroads as somewhat city riding and adjust based on how twisty they were. If I had 20% actual city and the rest backroads, I might put 30% city. You can also disable the city/highway tracking. It’s really only a guide to you for interpreting your overall mileage.

Motorcyclists tend to fall into 2 camps.... speed lovers and cruisers. The more active you are on the throttle, the lower your fuel economy. I have 2 extremes in my garage, a BMW S1000R and a Vespa GTS 300. On my Vespa, I tend to be moderate on the throttle. On my S1000R, accelerating can be much more fun, which is why it is lowest bike economy in my garage and the Vespa is the best. Enjoy the bike and adjust your riding to whatever is most important to you.

I tended to have only two throttle positions. Wide-open or shut. I didn't get great mpg!

Alternatively, decide not to track so called City vs highway stats. That's what I did, as I have neither within close proximity to me...
