EV vs. Gas: Which Cars Are Cheaper to Own?

It looks lie the 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric is the most energy efficient vehicle on sale in North America at a combined 133MPGe. I thought the Tesla 3 or the Kona was the best. Anyways, this is according to the EPA.

A major financial company(UBS?) released a report last year predicting BEVs would reach total cost parity with ICE cars this year, in Europe. The difference between the fuel prices is a big factor.

That's a huge difference, even if the Model 3 has double the range. I see a lot more Teslas around here than any other EVs which is unusual considering the large asking price for Teslas.

My issue is I just don't do enough miles to make fuel cost saving worthwhile. I'm an enthusiast so my cars are for pleasure purposes only, I don't need to commute, and long journeys are very rare. There are some ev's I really like, the Peugeot e208 and its alleged upcoming all electric gti version, the crossover e2008 is a stunning looking car too, but they are around the £30k mark. So as an enthusiast, I see what exotica I can get for that, BMW M4, M6, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, a tuned 700 bhp Bentley Continental, various Porches, all of which would have several thousand in change too. And when you factor in near zero depreciation to help even out running costs, I just can't bring myself to splash the cash on a modern EV yet.

In the past number of years, I saw one Kona, one iMiev and one i3. In comparison, I see Teslas almost every day; there is also a few Volts and Leafs around. Also, the Ioniq is rare as well, even though they come in three versions I think I only seen one EV at the dealer.
