e-mail notification of new threads

i know i mentioned this back in the old days, but i'd love to have the option of receiving e-mail notification of newly created threads.

It is possible to subscribe to a thread, but you're talking about an email notification of ALL new threads, right? Do you mean making it like a daily digest, or perhaps receiving an email whenever a new thread is created in, let's say... "General Fuel Economy Discussion?"

I'll poke around for a plugin that might do what you're looking for.

wasn't thinking digest - i'd prefer instant notification. it doesn't have to be "subscribeable" by section either; notification of new threads in any/all sections would be good.

Just to be clear, you want new threads, not new replies, right?

right. i don't want to know about every reply within the new thread, just when a new thread is created.

i like getting notified of new replies in threads that i've already subscribed to, however. i'm not wanting you to take that away.

I've been looking online and it appears that this is a much requested feature in vbulletin. It's such a requested feature that people have been asking for it for over 6 years now.

And apparently it's such a pain to actually impliment that the Vbulletin programmers have been saying "no way" for 6 years too.

I'll continue to search for a workaround.
