So I got a new job...

I will be working 7-3 (full time) at baw plastics. I will be making plastic displays, walmart nametags, and other stuff. Hopefully it is not too bad. Best thing of all is that it is only 2.1 miles from my house. Not good for mpg, but good for total gallons consumed.

nice. thats kinda early for my tastes, but 2.1 miles... if you can wear whatever you want then i would bike there.

Yeah I figure i will bike there on nice days.

The 7-3 shift is awesome! The only shift I like better is 7-5, Mon-Thurs (four tens). I'm definately a morning person and not a night person...I'm usually passed out asleep by 10:30PM!

What will your job duties entail? What will your title be?

Good for you. Congrats.

Sounds like whatever he wants it to be ;)

Congrats on the close job. My closest was a Nortel plant about a 5 minute walk from the house (but I had to cross the tracks, and if a train was in the way, it became a 15 minute walk via an underpass.)

I had to say about the walmart nametags. Because when i went for the interview i saw giant stack of walmart nametags in the back. Title?

how does "Factory worker" sound (yeah boring). I don't know all the details yet dax. They make alot of custom displays and stuff. See here:

I'd never knock factory work. My job at Nortel was on the assembly line making telecom electronics. Pure monkey work (I always said that if monkeys had just a few more IQ points, we would have all been out of work).

Yet it was almost like a holiday. Great pay, easy work, zero responsibility, no stress. Walk out at the end of the shift and I just left it behind. That was nice ... for a while :)

I volunteered for the 3:30 to midnight shift. So I did all the interesting things I enjoyed doing during the daytime, then went to work at the end of the day (and got paid extra for being on that shift).

Real interesting work. Did you quit from that place?

Lasted almost a year before I left. (Sorry to hijack your thread, kickflip.)
