GPS vs. Odometer mileage.
This morning I was packing up my bike and gear for a bike ride after work. I grabbed my eTrex GPS to pack and desided that I should test out my odometer reading vs the GPA trip odometer.
My results showed that my odometer adds .22 miles every 10 traveled. So all of my MPG calculations are a shade high. A 300 mile tank is really like a 293.4 mile tank. Not a big difference but still disapointing. I of course did this test hoping my numbers would go up not down. I am getting new tires tomorrow and will redo this weekend when I get them on. |
I need to do this same test but with google earth, one of these days, :'(
Perhaps I'll incorporate it into my planned HAI testing (I've left the HAI on there for a few days without testing it, oh no!) |
