oh man thats a lot of work...
you like wires though, so have fun! |
Dude, you have way too much time on your hands! :D
|
I know, that's why I'm looking for something to do. Back to it though, never taken the fenders off before so it's a bit of a mystery.

Got to work last night on some of this crap and didn't get much done for various reasons, but I'll be working on it today and it'll get done, so no complaints out of me.
First thing to move, headlight wiring: https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00393.cdd.JPG Popped out my corners: https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00394.9b4.th.JPG Removed the t bar (to get to bumper screws): https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00395.993.th.JPG They were tough to get out... https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00396.1b8.th.JPG Bumper off https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00397.1b7.th.JPG Fender off: https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00399.f86.th.JPG Time to get to it f'real. I need to figure out where I'm going to tuck the headlight stuff on the firewall side of things but that shouldn't be too bad. The only write up I've ever seen on it by g0crxg0 over on h-t was taken down because he got so much whiney crap from people, it was really good, but I'll just feel it out, :) |
while the bumper is off are you going to pull ou thte bumper support? :p

I pull the bumper support to take the horn off but I'll be putting it back on.
Anyway, I've tucked my first wire, came in to catch some cool air and get some stuff so I can starting extending and soldering in the wiring. Easier than I thought it would be. Also, just got an email from burns honda. They have their own "in-house" pricing but since I asked them about msrp they'll honor it for me, :), no screwing me for money on a head gasket. Wohoo. |
Made some progress today, taking a break now to go shopping with my mom now that I know my dorm assignment (plus I need more shrink wrap).
A look down behind the headlight and at that ground thingy on the right, dunno what I'll do with it for sure, but I have an idea. https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00400.e1f.th.JPG Got everything unplugged and hanging. https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00401.765.th.JPG Here's what the stuff looks like. Mmm burn blister. https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00402.6c3.th.JPG Tilt your head, this is where the wiring will be running in hidden form. https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00403.d6f.th.JPG Tore open the harness and got this. https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00404.bbf.th.JPG Remove the rubber plug from the hole I'm holding it next to to give room for the wires to come out. https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00406.99e.th.JPG Pulled the wires and the firewall holder thing right through, now I've got a gap like this: https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00407.5fd.th.JPG Here it is from the inside: https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00408.e36.th.JPG Hey, look at my wire: https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00409.57d.th.JPG Just looped it up into the fender brace area and ran it down the corridor to the front of the car: https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00410.836.th.JPG This is where is exits the brace: https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00411.9a6.th.JPG I'm going wire for wire on the colored stuff so I'm not labeling that, but for that ground box I'm labeling every wire so I can reattach them all the same way (not that I'm sure that's necessary): https://images5.theimagehosting.com/DSC00412.9e3.th.JPG I'll get some more done this afternoon/tonight when I'm back from college shopping! Everything's looking good right now. PS: What should I use to plug the firewall hole with when I'm done that'll look bling? |
Updates/Angers when I get back from running.
