How much is a rebuilt engine worth to you?

So here's the deal. Just days after receiving my z600 with the rebuilt engine, a fully rebuilt engine goes on ebay for my n600.

It's a good chunk of change, but I can swing it without much hassle (Have a little saved up).

Now, here is what I'm thinking.

I can buy the rebuilt engine for my n600 and keep the existing rebuilt engine in the z600. This would increase the value of the car when I got it running and fixed up. It's possible it would cover the cost of the new engine. If I put a little more effort (and money) into it I could probably get even more for the z600. New carpet, upholstery, paint, etc.

I could always just keep it myself too, but do I really need 3 cars? Didn't think so.

Or I can just continue with the current plan, which makes the most economical sense... but damn... a freshly rebuilt engine seems too good to pass up.

This has nothign to do with fuel economy, but I'd still like your input.

Is the cost of the rebuilt engine more than it would be to rebuild your current one yourself?

No, less actually. Parts for a rebuilt engine are about the same price as this, plus the fact that I don't know HOW to rebuild an engine, so it would definately take me a bit longer to get it done. Shipping is also free for this one, and in the end I'll have a spare (running) engine I can sell to someone else.

I say that you go for it then. You could prolly turn that z600 pretty well with as good condition as it's in and still have you n600 running like buttered bread.

Sounds like a good deal.

True... it's just going to take a substancial investment and will be a while before I get the money back. Ugh... I hate money.
