gmsh and openflower
 

Anyone use either of these? Gmsh seems pretty straight forward and I doubt I'll have a whole lot of trouble after the tutorials, but I'm not sure if openflower provides data relevant to fluid drag? I know gmsh has what are probably, applicable post processing plug-ins, cool pic, but it seems like openflower is more powerful.

If you're going to take the leap, maybe you could post a few notes along the way about what it can do?

From what I've gathered, I make a shape, and give it surfaces in gmsh. Then use openflower and my gmsh file to simulate fluid (air) flow over the object at some speed, or range of speeds. I've seen a couple questions about calculating drag from openflower output, but no answers. I think it's considered to be basic/trivial in cfd circles, so the only way I'll find out if it's useful is by trying. I also found fluent "lying in the street", so I may mess around with that later.
