Got the VX home yesterday.

It was only a 61 mile drive home with it but the entire ride all I could think about was Dan's saga home. I did make it home without any major issues. Here is the the list of stuff to be fixed so far:

Shocks and Struts
E-brake was frozen and now all f-ed up.
A/C Blows and bogs engine but that is it.
Gas is bad from sitting 1 1/2 years.
Front corner light needs replaced.
Serpentine belt is about to bust.
Need tires.
Guy smoked like mad in the car burning holes in the seats and it was "grey" inside everywhere.

But all in all so far so good. Hope to get it titled and ready to roll with in 2 weeks.

take out the AC. I don't have it in my car and I'm fine with it. My passengers always complain about something.

Make sure you get LRR tires.

Ebrake should be easy to fix. It probably just needs some lubrication.

The A/C problem might be your IACV needing to be cleaned.

Best solution for the smoke is to torch the car. Or you can be like me and put a few full sized bags of cedar mulch in your back seat for a few days (we're redoing our front lawn). Now my car smells like cedar... it's kinda cool :)

If you've got A/C I would not take it out. I'd get it fixed and use it when you feel like it. It is a wonderful addition and if you don't turn it on it isn't using enough power to worry about. If it's hot out, then the cost is minimal, for the comfort.

I've added A/C back to one honda and I have parts to do the other one. It is a whole lot easier to have the parts already their, even if they don't work.

If your gas was sitting a year and a half, I'd get it drained and try to find some way to get the tank flushed. Otherwise your going to have a tar type goo plugging up your fuel system, injectors and so forth. I've posted previously, where I ended up putting two inline filters in the fuel line, before the injectors, to catch all of the junk. Fuel filters are a whole lot easier and cheaper than getting the fuel system flushed, repeatedly.

Glad you made it back in one piece. Too bad about the smoke. That's one good ting about my VX, the interior is in very good condition, no hint of smoke.

As far as the A/C no I wont rip that one out. I ripped it out of my CRX when we swapped the motor because it didnt work and was in the way. I learned my leason this summer about no A/C when it was 90+ and I had to drive an hour in a suit.

As for the gas issue I am just going keep an eye on the fuel filter and try to run it about dry before I fill it. I may add an inline filter too just to make like easyer.

Dan lucky you on the interior. Mine looks like he burned holes in EVERYTHING on purpose.

OH and to add to my list of stuff to be fixed. Radio doesn't work and antenna wire is ripped off.

I have all of my paper work to the mechanic to get filled out today so I can send for the title and get this baby on the road soon.

If you've got cigarette smoke smell, you should be able to get an air de-ionizer/filter for a small room and put it in the car and let it run for a couple of day's. That should get rid of the smell.

Are you disappointed with the CRX?

I'm just curious, if I read the forums properly, I thought a good combination was a CRX with the VX motor in it?

I am only disapointed in the CRX because it only has 2 seats. My CRX has the 1.5 Crx motor not the VX motor.
