https://www.gassavers.org/showthread.php?t=756 is Dax's DIY

I'd sell you the clutch and flywheel for 50 + shipping, 95 would be a rip.

Misc things you need are flywheel bolts. Prolly some crap I'm forgetting, too, but check Dax's DIY.

Clutch cable from any D series EF will work. Pedals can come outof any crx/sedan/hatch, I believe, I have sedan pedals in my car.

My flywheel is *shrug* The generic 89-00 18 pound flywheel I guess. My clutch came of a CX but it's the same as the EF stuff besides the throwout bearing, but I have like 4 throwout bearings now so I'd just give you an EF throwout bearing with it.

You'd also need clutch bolts to hold the pressure plate to the flywheel.

I'm prolly forgetting some crap but it was such a large job so it's easy to do, :p, lemme think on it some more.

Will i be able to use the axles that i currently have?

SVOboy 08-26-2006 02:34 PM

Yes.

Actually, I'm not sure. I think the 88 axles are the same but matt said differently the other day and I don't think we resolved it. Mehbe he/someone else will chime in.

now I think the axles are the same, but that the flywheel/clutch are different for 88. I was telling 8civic8 in a private message that he might be better to find a 90-91 CRX HF transmission as it's the same as the 92+. The flywheels for the 88 and 89 were slightly smaller than the 90+

As for the pedals, I might have some available soon if I end up swapping pedals on my sedan.

Matt, that's what you told me 8 months ago when I was shopping for pedals, :p

88 transmisson has a different amount of splines on the input shaft and a different clutch is required. good luck finding flywheel bolts, you'd have to go to the junk yard and find a honda with the engine still in it. make sure you have 12 point sockets sized 17mm & 10mm.

edit: the axles are the same, my si tranny is an 88.

If he's lucky he'll get an engine that comes with the clutch and flywheel like mine did.

I got my bolts a blown engine I bought for 5 bucks, :)
