New Fellow CRXer

Hey everybody, i'm a fellow CRXer in Toronto, Ontario in Canada. I have a 1991 CRX SI SE, soon to have a 3 Stage Vtec D15B with a ZC transmission and HF 5th.

Great to join the site, i'm going to be shooting for 55+mpg! Lets see how it goes!

is the crx si se the one with a v-tec already?
how are you planing to hook up the 2nd v-tec solinoid? or are you just going for the first stage? I think even the crx SI might be lighter and of course more aerodinamic then the vx... this sounds like a fun project.

SPECIAL EDITION! Show me pictures, pretty please?

The 1991 CRX Si is not lighter, but it's close.

Anyway, I assume you'll be converting to obd2?

It is a Canadian model only, so it has pillar mounted seatbelts, just like your 88's in the US. Here are the other differences:

Rear CRX VT style spoiler
Rear wiper motor and arm to accomodate spoiler
Front lip spoiler
Leather wrapped steering wheel, same as CRX VT
Double DIN dash piece
Double DIN CD and tape combo
Painted mirrors and side trim.
Special Edition door decals
Special Edition decal on rear center taillight garnish.
NH-550M Vogue Silver paint.
Only 250 were made with consecutive VIN numbers.

A large portion of the CRX SE's were installed with options at the factory including: A/C, driving lights (fogs), arm rests, and power windows.

I'm going to take it upon myself to build the appropriate wiring harness. No, i want the full effect of the 3 Stage Vtec D15B, otherwise i would've only chose to go with the OBD-1 D15B, which is exactly that.

I think it would be more aerodynamic... weight unfortunatly is not the case.
The VX weighs in at 2100-lbs (this is an approximation, i found 2 figures, 2094-lbs and 2108-lbs). My 1991 SI weighs in at over 2174-lbs, and its only going to get heavier as i sound deaden the vehicle.

You Sir, are correct!
There is no other way to take advantage of the motors features unless i do the conversion with the appropriate ECU...
