Broke my longtime MPG & mileage goal

Hi, this is my first post here at gassavers.
I followed a link here from friends of mine, krousdb, philmcneal and decided to join.
I've been training in hypermiling since Feb '04 and finally broke my long time goal:

Speed: About 55 average
Road: 95% highway

Ending ODO 75,827
Terrain: Very hilly to/from Atlanta to/from rural N. GA
PSI: 51PSI all the way around (Cold sidewall Max)
Tire: Factory LRR Dunlops (About ready for new skins)

Whew! I'm ready for another one!

I've also been active around the net showing folks they can dramatically improve MPG in what ever they currently drive.
Glad I found this website.

Nice tank! Welcome to the site.

How close were you to running out of gas?

krousdb 09-06-2006 11:40 AM

Finally you showed up! Welcome Steve!

Hurray! Another GA member! Sign up for the GasSavers FRAPPR so we don't look so all alone down here!

Congrats on getting a 1000 mile tank...I'm trying hard for a 500 mile tank (10 gallons)!

Hi Steve,

Impressive mileage. I've seen some of your posts around the net pre-CMPG and GS.

I'm afraid if I were to try for a 1000 mile tank, it would be December before you heard from me again. Don't drive that much :)

Welcome to the site!

Welcome and Well done man!

Jeez I would just be happy with a 500 mile tank but I think that is unattainable with this car. Maybe the next though....

Again great job!

Very possible! I've almost gotten that mileage driving my 91 SI conservativly.

Could it simply be the tire pressure or have you really broken in the engine very well - Outrageous Mileage MAN!! Nice Going!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

My gauge is divided into 20 segments or "bars" and the last bar went out at 992 miles.
In the past I've driven +25 miles past showing empty but didn't want to risk running out the next day. (I've never ran out)

Thanks again!
