Hello everyone! I drive a 1988 Honda Civic DX hatchback rocking the stock D15B2 engine with no modifications whatsoever. I'm averaging about 30-35 miles a tank highway and I'm trying to squeak more out of it since I have a 30 mile commute from Silver Spring the Bowie every day for work and I need to save money to finish my B-series engine build so any advice anyone has to offer is greatly appreciated!

If you're looking for a no-cost solution, driving style is your best bet. You could break 40mpg easily on your commute with no modifications.

Anything else might end up costing a LITTLE money, but iit will be worth it if you are serious about fuel economy.

BTW, what car is the B-series going into (is it a B16xx?)

It's a JDM Integra Type R bottom end, B16 head, and a GSR cable tranny (VERY difficult to find!) that is going into a CRX hopefully by the spring, but the Civic is my daily driver/gas-stingy car.

And yes my commute is 75% highway and it's primarily flat highways.

That CRX is certainly going to be a unique and quick ride!

As far FE on the highway, speed and aerodyamics are key. If you keep it below 60, you're good. Anything over that, and you're fighting to much to push air out of the way. If you over-inflate your tires, keep it slow, and master some of the tips and tricks here, then you should be able to get some good results.
