126 mpg!

Thought this may be of interest to anybody who thinks they're getting good MPG's, this couple managed to get an average of 126 UK MPG (roughly 100 US MPG) in a normal diesel hatchback over a staggering 3700 miles! It's not what you drive, it's how you drive it! Beats my personal best of 82 MPG by 44 MPG! If anybody needs proof that diesels are better than petrol's or indeed some hybrids, then this is it.

My last motorcycle got 130 UK MPG, and was a lot more fun than driving a car ;)

Well it's easy on a bike with low weight and a small engine. Cars obviously offer more safety, comfort, luxuries, practicality etc etc. I'm looking forward to the day when cars average this with day to day driving.

Yeah, and just lets forget the higher energy content of diesel. That is about 12%. Correct for that difference, and diesel is usually still better, but not as much.

Higher Energy for diesel for same price as gas, Hmmmm. That is why I love Diesel!
