Utah Gas Prices Still High
Okay, I heard a rumor somewhere that Gas is below $2 in some states. I also heard that California now has cheaper gas than Utah.
Yesterday 85 Octane was still 2.85 Is gas really going down? If so, why in the hell is Utah still paying so much? Just did some reading: https://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,645201349,00.html https://www.newwest.net/index.php/cit...ces/C104/L104/ https://www.abc4.com/local_news/local...9-5DB3FB988043 |
When I went to columbus, oh. I saw gas at 2.09. Check out this map-
https://gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx you can right click any area and see the price. |
Supposedly there's some kind of supply issue due to a refinery being down or at reduced capacity. Prices have been dropping roughly ten cents per week since the middle of August around here, and this morning I saw a couple of stations at $2.479. Connecticut had some of the most expensive fuel in the nation for a while.

2.19 for North Texas, sorry to hear that...

So lets see. Their refinery shuts down through no fault of yours and because the can't provide enough gas because their equipment is down the price goes up. I guess the CEO needs another year end bonus:p

but what doesn't make sense is why Utah gas prices skyrocketed when katrina hit, or when the rest of the country's gas went up. If we really are an island unto ourselves, the rises in gas prices in Utah are nothing more than dirty profiteering by the oil man. |
$2.169 on the way into work this morning.

Regular gas is still $2.90 here in Bend Oregon! Our town is a real tourist rip off.

What I don't get is... they just found that huge oil deposit in the gulf of Mexico which they claim is one of the largest oil deposits ever found... then in the same breath they say that it will not affect the price of gas.
Well WTF? Why are we looking for oil if prices are going to just keep skyrocketing anyways? Those oil companies are a bunch of greedy bastards!! |
Well, they have found that oil...but they can't extract it yet...You can't find oil and then the next day start drilling offshore. You have to build a few rigs first.
