Hello from Saskatchewan!

Gas today is $3.51 per gallon (it WAS $4.54 back in July). That that pretty much explains why I sold my 1991 Ford Thunderbird 5.0L V8 and bought a 1997 Geo Metro. The car gets much better fuel economy, but I am baffled by how much of an increase in fuel economy some users have attained and share on this site! Way to go!

Anyways, just a bit of background about myself: I'm a Visual Arts major at the University of Regina (SK, Canada) and have always had a large interest in autobody design. The most inspirational vehicle I've owned was a 1985 Pontiac Fiero which got great mileage (37mpg for a 2.5L 4 cylinder, auto) and handled like a dream.

Today, I'm still drawing and creating vehicles. My current 2007 model project design is an updated version of my 2005 RezMobile Miser (created 2004) . Unlike the first model, the 2007 edition is going to be 100% electric powered. I plan to build a life-sized and operational RezMobile someday in the future...

Here's the website for the 2005 RezMobile: https://www.cardomain.com/ride/567996

The 2007 model is currently 50% complete (at least 2 additional RezMobiles are going to be made as well, so keep posted) and I will have pictures and a website up and running for them in mere days.

I'm looking forward to bouncing ideas back and fourth within the gassavers.org community. Together, we ARE the future for vehicular sustainibility!

Hello Peakster!

Oddly enough I know someone in Saskatchewan... havn't seen him since 1999 though.

Anyway, it looks like you've put a lot of thought into the perfect automobile. Honestly, I've also wanted to build the perfect car someday. Perhaps when I'm done restoring my n600, getting the house and yard perfect, and tinkering with this website I'll start on it.

Anyway, glad to have you aboard. I look forward to following your Metro's gaslog entries.

Welcome

Hey, welcome to GasSavers!

It's good to see more Canadians join to get your perspectives and ideas.

It looks like you have quite an interesting project going. Best of luck, and keep us posted!

Feel free to ask us any questions or propose experiments -- if it can be scientifically tested, members like to become part of the process.

Again, welcome, and feel free to have a look around.

Welcome welcome. You have a really interesting background, perhaps you're well suited to do one of these ridic aero conversions on you metro, ;)
