The Fit should be here soon

Got a call last week saying that my Fit will be in this week... supposedly today or tomorrow...

I can't wait :)

As soon as you get it...

The minute you take delivery, I think we need pics, and lots of them -- right guys? :D

Yep!

Some more info on the fit for the new guy please ;)

Hello -

Most definitely many pics. The best part will be the before and after shots over time. How many GasSaver goodies will Matt employ to make his MPG skyrocket? Will he do them before or after the warranty expires?

And will Matt be using giant ever so streamlined magnet ads on his Fit? Or will that cause a prohibitive weight addition (even flat bendy magnets are heavy!!!!).

Pics, nay. Video, Matty! Show 'n' tell.

BumblingB 10-10-2006 05:49 PM

Pics are good with a video option :) - some of us country folk don't have DSL/Cable available as an option.

Is it the Orange Blast color? I like that color.

Sad news...

I just got a call from teh dealership today, and the freighter carrying my Fit hasn't even come into dock yet. They expect it to come into dock on Monday, which means I'll get my Fit in maybe 7-8 days from now.

Le Sigh

MetroMPG 10-10-2006 06:52 PM

Le funny.

I thought you were going to say it tipped over, like the Mazda freighter.

BumblingB 10-10-2006 06:56 PM

At least we know you won't have a Fit tomorrow. :D Sorry, I've been saving that one up along with, "Don't have a Fit" and a few other lame puns. :p

MetroMPG 10-10-2006 06:59 PM

Don't worry, Matt. One day your ship will come in.

Ba-dump, ching.

He's here all week!

Actually, if it's coming through the port of Long Beach (most likely), it will take a day or 2 after arrival to get on a train, go to the offloading facility in Utah, onto a truck and to the dealer. By the time I got my EVO, it took this route and had 12 miles on it just from moving it around. It all depends on how far out the ship is. It's an efficient process after the dock.

It's a bummer, yes -- but it'll make it that much sweeter when it arrives :)

Mazda frightliner tipped? where's that story?

cfg83 10-10-2006 09:51 PM

Hey -

Matt's lying  . I saw this at a custom detail shop yesterday :

https://home.earthlink.net/~cfg83/gas.../matts_fit.jpg

It has everything, mini whale tail, moon disks, no passenger side mirror, removed antenna, front wheel spoilers, and cheesy ad magnet.

:D

Matt, when you and your wife go to pick it up, you should totally drive the N up there!

Volvos

The same thing happened to a ship with Volvos not too long ago (I believe it happened in the North Sea).

Volvo: For Life.

MetroMPG 10-11-2006 10:54 AM

Except I think the Volvo ship sank. The Mazda carrier just listed badly, so the car's weren't wrecked. Then they righted it. There's going to be a big used Mazda sale coming up (mostly the 3's). Seriously. :)

I ordered my fit THREE MONTHS ago. Build date is 10/27. Its taken so long because I ordered a Base Blue fit with the manual tranny. It should be really awesome though once it comes in.

I guess I shouldn't complain about an extra week then, should I?

I ordered it one day after the build day :)

GasSavers_DaX 10-12-2006 06:31 AM

Matt - your engine will be about the size of my head!
