Warmed fuel

I ran across this website discussing warming fuel to improve economy.

https://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.c...=155457&page=6

Search throught the forums I see diamondlarry had completed a warming mod but no results were ever posted. Has anyone else tried this to confirm?

I have had great success in this sort of thing with +50% FE ., but i dont want to discolse my details.
Suffice it to say that its too difficult to implement on mpfi engines and the manufacturing side of my mod was complex.

I would think that a simple line of coolent running to the fuel rail, and a heat pipe that was tuned to start cooling it again if/when it got close to the vaporization point work work really well, and be extreamly simple to make for a MPFI system.

Hey this is common practice for diesels. They do it more because the fuel likes to be warmer so they pass the fuel past the oil with a heat exchanger and it opens and closes a valve to allow more fuel to pass as it needs more heat. The fuel pump pumps about 1/2 gallon a minute and obviously doesn't burn it all and dumps the rest back to the tank, although it all runs through the fuel filter. I checked and after a long drive the fuel tank is quite warm.

With diesel this isn't a big deal but I would think with gasoline this could be pretty dangerous, but if done correctly you would think it would improve mileage.

I believe the setup on my car was warming the fuel too much and was causing driveability problems. Check out Fran's results with warmed fuel at www.hydrogen-boost.com. Most people see about a 10% or so improvement.

I can't find anything about Fran's warmed fuel. But it's interesting hydrogen-boost.com's product seems quite similar to a water injection device that Popular Mechanics tried with much less than success they promise. https://www.popularmechanics.com/auto...32.html?page=4 They then go on claim that the product produces Brown's gas... what a notion. Guess there's no need for gasoline anymore.

I just sent them an email requesting info for their products. Could be interesting.
