ford ranger

hello, i have a 2003 ford ranger xlt 2.3L 5spd automatic 2wd
my first tank of gas i got 23.33mpg. i stumbled upon gassavers.org and read the forums for a couple days and learned a few driving tricks and improved my mpg to 25 for the next 3 tanks. then i bought a scangauge2 and just filled up after a week of using the scangauge....26.3mpg this is 70% highway and 30% in town. i am shooting for 30mpg for a goal. thankyou everyone for the tips you have provided.

Welcome

Hey, Welcome to GS!

The Ford Ranger/Mazda B-series gets the best FE for its class -- especially with the 4-cyl, 5-speed.

Take a look at the busted and confirmed mods thread, try a few things, and let us know how things pan out. As always, we're here to answer any questions you might have. Best motoring!

Hey there, welcome to the site!

Have you ever seen phil knox's pickup?

every time I take a look under a pickup truck, I'm reminded if conversations about belly pans, I think if you could figure out a way to build a belly pan on a pickup truck you would see some amazing improvements.

Trucks have the largest room for improvement. And a few aero mods will help a bunch.
