Best tires for FE?
 

I have a 1998 honda civic dx with 14-inch hx wheels. Who makes the lightest tires for this car? The lightest tire I've found so far is the Kumho 732 Touring Plus in a 175/65/R14, weighing in at 15 pounds. Any ideas?:)

It's not about weight, it's about rolling resistence. Bridgestone Ponteza re92s I believe they are called, stock insight tire.

They are LRR tires that come stock on the 2007 Yaris also. I have them at
44 lbs for better mileage. So far I am happy with them. I will see how they are in the snow this winter.

Thanks a lot for the info. I just read the Greenseal article on rolling resistance :thumbup: . Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the weight of the Potenza RE92's?

Thank you krousdb. I had been calling Discount Tire and asking the shipping weight of various tires. I'll now be using tirerack.com as another resource.

Make sure you order the 165/65/14's. That size is LRR specifically. Any other size is just a normal tire. I have found that the dry and wet performance is quite acceptable. I have not yet experienced snow, and I don't plan to. Don't expect good results in snow. This is a summer tire.
