Anyone else thought of building a microcar type vehicle like Mr Squibb and his Moonbeam?
The thought has crossed my mind more than a few times. I drive a motorcycle to work for the most part, so driving a tiny vehicle like that would not discourage me, and driving a purpose built commuter for all weather seems like a good way to go for 95% of my driving. |

He's using an old Mini as the shell - narrowing it & making it RWD. Pretty intensive build. |

i klnow you can get a dune buggy frame and make it street legal. im sure you could fab up some kind of super aeodynamic "shell" for it. along with either a metro 3 engine or what they usually use in dunebuggies: 4cyl VW engine from the beetles, bus, ghia...

Thanks for the link. Funny that he is using a Mini. I am currently rebuilding one myself. :D Just put the outer sill on the right side in last weekend. Inner sill and rear floorpan get work this weekend.
When its done, I may start a microcar from scratch. |
could just get some black iron pipe, weld up a secure strong frame, slap a fiberglass body on it and there u go!

Anyone going this year? Supposed to be Oct 19-20.
