My car got stollen

I woke up and it is gone. I filed a police report and called the insurance..... they wont do anything...

its gone.

Matt Timion 12-21-2006 07:21 AM

what do you mean they won't do anything? Did you only have liability insurance?

Dude... that sucks... I guess it's a good thing you live so close to work right now. Hopefully they'll find it soon.

GasSavers_DaX 12-21-2006 07:59 AM

WTF...that blows!

Gary Palmer 12-21-2006 08:23 AM

That triple up really stink's! Other than letting you file a police report, did the police do anything?

Hockey4mnhs 12-21-2006 10:19 AM

i wish somone would take my car so my dad would buy me a new one

GasSavers_Jack 12-21-2006 10:39 AM

I am assuming that they took the Civic? That really sucks.

F**k Theives

GasSavers_Ryland 12-21-2006 12:34 PM

I have friends that had their civic vx stolen 3 times befor it was totaled by theives who took it for a joyride.

SVOboy 12-21-2006 12:49 PM

Noooooooo!

I loved it, I was just telling my girlfriend I needed to visit you sometime soon. I'll be on the lookout for it. What color HXs did you have on it when it was taken? I've seen a few white egs in the area but none with HXs. My gosh.

*hugs*

A friend with a shop had a cusomter (card carying Frenchman) who had is Citroen CX stolen in Washington DC. Called the cops, no help....so they hit the streets looking for the car, that was reported stolen. Sure nuf, on about the third night, they find it, a bit ratty, but they grab it. So, driving around at night in DC in a car reported stolen, past cops etc, never stopped. Anyhow, they get the car home, and it is full of illegal drug material. If the guy had been stopped....

Peakster 12-21-2006 08:49 PM

That's really unfortuante that it got stolen. And in a big city, it would be hard to find too. Maybe consider installing an imobilizer for your car when you get it back.

Silveredwings 12-22-2006 08:21 AM

Stollen?

thisisntjared 12-22-2006 07:42 PM

thanks for keeping on the look out ben, and yes matt i only had liability. i never saw the point in paying more for insurance every year than i did for the car. i still wont get insurance for theft, i think its a scam, particularly in nj.

anyway they found the car stripped in an alleyway in camden. sorry to say this guys, but i think i am done with hondas. i have had serious anger issues during the passed couple days.

when i filed the police report they said they would broadcast out to other precincts and see if anything turns up. there is no justice, they just wait for the theives to finish and let me clean up the mess.

roughly $300 in towing storage and camden city police fees for me to pick the car up, or i can sell the 'car' and give them $35 for processing fees. thats not counting the towing fees i would need, should i want to keep my car. they also said that if i were to sign over the deed to my car for $35 i could only take out personal posessions. THE CAR IS MY PERSONAL POSESSION! PRICKS! AND SO IS EVERY SINGLE PART!

so yea when i say i have anger issues, it is serious. most of you guys know i am pretty level headed.... but recently, ive been real high strung. i hope the scumbag coke addict theif got enough for his holiday fix, merry christmas:(

BUMMER!:( I'll be thinking of you.

SVOboy 12-22-2006 07:49 PM

Ah **** man, I'm sorry. Do you know what you're going to do?

I hate to see you out of hondas, but being happy is more important than any damn car. Mehbe I'll pop by sometime before I go back to school and give you a hug?

thisisntjared 12-22-2006 07:54 PM

any emotional attachment i had to my baby is gone. the shell that is sitting in the impound lot is not my car, right now i dont even want to see it. i am going to see if whatever is left is worth more than 300. if it is i will take it back and probably part it out, if not, then its really gone.

ben is you girlie local to south jersey or is she just around your school? maybe nikki and i could have you 2 over for dinner or something. i am not much of a hugger though and i high-five is definitely not fitting....

SVOboy 12-22-2006 08:03 PM

Colleen lives in horsham, which is about 40 minutes from me as fast as she drives, more like 50-55 for me depending on my mood. But yeah, I'm sure we'd be down for dinner, if you do extend the invitation.

I'll hug you anyway.

thisisntjared 12-22-2006 08:05 PM

when do you head back to school? i am obviously booked until the new year...

SVOboy 12-22-2006 08:11 PM

We drive back the 3rd!

GasSavers_roadrunner 12-23-2006 03:04 AM

Honda's stolen for parts

2 Attachment(s)
My son's Honda Civic Si was stolen in Philadelphia this year. They found it stripped, and I mean stripped. Honda's are a favorite, for parts, expecially the Si. He replaced it with a S2000, that is harder to steal, with the chip in the key.

Woah, sorry to hear about your troubles. I know how much that sucks and how unsympathetic those in the car theft industry are (tow truckers, junk yards, insurance company bureaucrats, and especially cops). I think I remember feeling about the way you do. It took me a long time to WANT to own a car again. :(

I wish you all the best from here...

onegammyleg 12-23-2006 03:48 AM

I was at work one day and came home at about 4pm.
When I rolled up my driveway I saw that the front door of my house was open., which was rather odd.
I knew it was bad even before I got out the car :-)

So I walked up the path and looked inside ,,and EVERYTHING was gone. !

Yup ,in the middle of the day while I was at work I had moved out , but I didnt know about it.

Theives took everything , inlcuding clocks off thew wall , my shoes and even my electric razor.
The only thing left was an old sofa , one bed and my kitchen table and my dirty dishes from the morning.

But I thought , ?well ,ime glad that I locked my garrage.?
(after ending my race car prep business i kept most of my real expensive tools and gear in there)
So I wander out the back and lift up the rolling door , and , EMPTY..

At this point I just started to laugh ,,, and the best part was yet to come.
The insurance company wouldnt pay up because there was no sign of forced entry., so it was all a loss.

All of what we own is just temporary anyway , its all just stuff.
Stuff can be replaced ,,its not worth getting too hung up over these things. :D

Silveredwings 12-23-2006 04:29 AM

gamy-
So what I hear is that before calling the insurance company, you should close the door and kick it in so they can pay for that too. Bastards.

Yes , I knew this.
So I said that to them that if I had of missled them and broke a window they would have had to pay the claim.

But then I said that ime not dishonest , and that I would like them likewise act honorably and pay up on a genuine claim.

They didnt..

Matt Timion 12-23-2006 07:59 AM

Jared... sorry for the loss... time for a Yaris?

Compaq888 12-23-2006 08:19 AM

Sorry for your loss Jared. I'm scared about my car like crazy. I keep reading all these stories on honda-tech. I put more than $400 in car security in my civic.

BTW, it will only take time for the thieves to steal cars with chips in the keys. And any car can be stolen if they really want it.

philmcneal 12-24-2006 02:07 PM

that's why I traded my civic! Can't hotwire a prius can you hehhehe!

I hope a better car comes by you and sweeps you by your feet! Sorry for your loss... epically during this time of the year.

We mis-read the post, I just noticed the title, it is Stollen, not stolen:D

I am happy your car got a Stollen, I did not get a Stollen this year, my mother is far too old and sick to make these anymore, amazing what you take for granted as a child....https://www.cafe-burger.de/spezialita...up/stollen.jpg

Not funny:confused: The guy just lost a significant investment and a way to get to and from work etc. :(

psyshack 12-26-2006 08:37 AM

I'm real sorry to read of these theft's.

To have one's car stolen is horrible.

And then to have your home cleaned out.

Its a shame the cops and ins. company wouldn't do there job's.

Speaking as a American citizen the country is going in the crapper. We have lost our back bone and seem to put up with anything concerning law enforcement and big business.

Something was lost when we stopped hanging horse thief's. Fact is in my county you will get in more trouble for stealing a horse than you will a car. Well that is if the worthless cops get out and do there job. And the lawyer type judge does theres.

And then there are the Insurance Company's. The only thing more corrupt is a Indian Casino. I went straight to the top when I purchased my Honda's. Allstate was doubling my premiums. After being with them 15 years and thinking there going to **** slap me. I got the Ins. Commissioner involved. Drug my agent thru the muck myer. And basically discredited the industry as a hole. ( hole = not a typo ) The more I dug the more I found out why people in my family that had been in the insurance business quit it. They are a flat out calculated den of thieves.

Sorry for the rant.

Gary Palmer 12-26-2006 09:53 AM

Jared: I'm really sorry to hear you got ripped off, coming and going. It doubly stink's when the city police double team with the towing company to stick it to you, when they can. I don't blame you for being really pissed off.

I had an 89 Toyota Pick Up sitting in front of the house, with the registration paid, but the tag's not "current". They appropriated my truck and charged me $350 just to get rid of it, between the city and the tow company. They didn't give me a notice or anything, they just pulled it, because the "registration was more than six months expired", bull****!!!

Anyway, it's gone and hopefully they can't stiff me for anything more, on it.

Is your thinking on Honda, that the only reason it had any value was because it had some value as part's? In any case, it does give you considerable cause to be frustrated and angry, which is unfortunate.

I'd like to say that their is some fairness and that it will catch up to the thieves and the system, but I don't know if that's true. I know I am very bitter towards the various police organizations I have had to deal with, in my life, they have all been willing and happy to stick it to you, irrespecitive of any real reasonable cause. It can make you pretty bitter. However, the downside is that the more bitter you become, the more it takes away from the quality of your own life, so try not to let it get to you to much.:(

MetroMPG 12-26-2006 07:27 PM

Having your car stolen: What a lousy Christmas present. I can only imagine what kind of a hassle this is. Sorry to hear about it.

People are scared. If anyone decides to stand up to these entities in a similar manner to which they were treated, they either wind up in prison or dead.

There used to be a time where when we didn't need government law enforcement; we WERE the law enforcement. There used to be a time where if someone violated a contract causing damage to ones property or even outright stole from a person, that person could get back what is owed to them using any means they had to.

You see, our courts, our corporations, our politicians, and our law enforcement are biased. They preach personal responsibility and hold everyone else to that standard; when it is time for them to take responsibility, they refuse and shirk theirs onto someone else. Our courts follow the logic that since a given law exists, that its existance is justified, and they prosecute accordingly. Our law enforcement believe law and justice to be the same and the job of every LEO hinges upon them refusing to differentiate these two concepts. Our politicians see themselves and their benefactors as the sole exception to a law, but are willing to 'get tough on crime' when it comes to everyone else. Our corporations want to privatize everything, and then try to claim you don't have constitutional rights on private property(would they get what they wanted while such a policy were to hold completely true, you'd essentially have no rights).

Even a complete moron can see why this country is becoming what it is.
