Interesting Ford compact
I was out today and I saw this interesting car that would make a great FE platform. So I start stalking it since I've never seen this car before. I follow it for about 2 mile so I can get the make and model. Guess I need to add that to the "you know your an FE nut when you" . Combined MPG of 45MPG 57MPG highway. Sadly you can't get it here in the good OLD USA:(

I think ford is making a mistake not selling those cars in the US, I bet they would have sold a lot last summer when the gas prices were over $3 bucks a gallon.

I rented one of those in New Zealand and put about 1300 miles on it. Great little car. I did not calculate the MPG nor did I have scangauge-honed FE skills back in 2004.

Yaris Commercials
...and some of the American public thought that "hurting" the piggy bank in the old Yaris commericals was too graphic! RH77 |
That's the first time I ever laughed at a commercial.

well i was looking at the U.K. site i happened to notice they actually have realistic fuel economy tests!! Urban - An engine started from cold in laboratory conditions operated at varying speeds, maximum 50 km/h, average 19 km/h over a theoretical distance of 4 km. Extra Urban - Conducted immediately after the urban cycle, it consists of half steady speed driving and half varying speed driving, maximum 120 km/h over a distance of 7 km. Combined - This is an average of the two parts of the test, weighted by the distances covered in each part. |
