I want a vx
 

How hard is it to find a vx. Ive been looking aroun and ive never even seen one. I dont think they have ABS the only thing ive found for info was a thing for all civics in general so idk much. Anyone who knows somthing please fill me in.

I was looking in autotraders and there's lots of Civic "CX" and "DX" but couldn't find a VX. What do all these letters mean anyways?

The letters are just trim level.

CX - 8 valve 62 horsepower. Essentially the 92-95 version of the CRX HF
DX - normal no frills car. 92 HP, 16 valve.
VX - 12/16 valve vtec-e, depending on RPM. 62/92 Horsepower, depending on RPM.
SI/EX - 16 valve vtec, 120ish horsepower.

So essentially, the CX edition would be the best vehicle to hypermile?

Edit: Just looked up the EPA figures of a '95 Civic HB VX. Holy smokes! It blows my Metro away!

Where did you get the vtec-e numbers for the vx?

Can't remember. I remember reading them somewhere when I was looking to install the d15z1 into my EF.

the Horse power rating is peek horse power... so I don't get how it can have two numbers, the VX engine puts out more torqe at lower engine speeds then the engine in the CX, that is part of how it can get better mileage, and because of the Variable valve timing, it can "breath" better at higher rpm's and put out more peek power.
other then engine types, the CX, and VX are pretty close to the same body, the VX has a few extras like light snazzy alloy wheels, lower front lip/air dam, and it seems like a few other non engine related items, but I forget what they are, the CX or VX came as basicly a striped down car, if you wanted a rear wiper, passenger side mirrer, a/c, mud flaps, side trim/door bumper, you had to order it as a factory/dealer option (mine has most of this stuff, most vx's I've seen don't have them).
I don't think you could get either cx or vx with things like cruse controle, power windows/locks, or ABS as an option, altho the DX and SI did have all that stuff as an option I'm still not sure about ABS.
Basicly the higher up in the trim leavle (cx, vx, dx, si) the more options you had, and the more the car cost, altho I think the vx cost more then the dx, because of the engine.
