200k !!

Well, The Festiva rolled over 200K yesterday! Who says you can't buy reliable transportation for less than a grand? I've put almost 10K on it since September and have done nothing but change oil. I've averaged 47.45 mpg over that distance with no Scangauge etc. I did recently add a grille block (to aid warm up) and it seems to have helped the mpg as my last tank was 50.25 mpg without much hypermiling attempt. I'm quite happy with my purchase :) An added plus was a guy at work bought a new Prius and my mpg average is higher than his :D he was surprised ..........

I guess no one told him that the difference between theory and practice in theory is much less than the difference between theory and practice in practice. With respect to the theory of fuel economy - divide by two; curse ye mother nature :p

Congratulations on you're 200th birthday :P

Kraig:

Congratulations!!! I have a car with 200k+ and one with 250K+, and have no reservation driving either......It helps the mileage to have the car properly "broken in" :D

I think that in our times, 200K on a well maintained car is no different than 100K was 20 years ago. Most cars can go the distance reliably but you probably need to be ready for repairs.
