MetroMPG 04-29-2007 03:31 PM

Filled up today: 396.3 mi., 4.7 gal (US) = 84.3 mpg (US).

SG was off by 4.6% on the mpg calc. It said 88.2 - reported slightly under on distance (saying 392 mi.), and quite under on fuel used (said 4.4 gal).

Hey metro that is half the error of your last fill. You did not reset the numbers from last time right? Any ideas on why there is such a big change? Do you think that you could have lost that much petro through evaporation form taking 4 months to fill on the previous tank? Curious indeed....

MetroMPG 04-29-2007 04:52 PM

Right - I didn't change anything on the SG after last fill.

I don't know why there would be such a difference. I thought of the evaporation idea too over the winter, but the car is supposed to have a closed loop system (and it was tested as part of the emissions test). It's a mystery.

Anyway, I'll re-jig the SG before I drive next. So it's more accurate on this tank.

Awesome tank (new record)! I smell a 100 MPG tank right around the corner for you!

MetroMPG 04-29-2007 05:34 PM

Yeah, I don't think so!

It could be done, but I'd have to make very selective trips (that aren't too long, because P&G in 2nd - 3rd gear at 25 mph avg gets kind of tedious).

My "current tank" is sitting at 108 mpg (US) indicated - corrected down 5% = 103ish. (That's the couple of km's from the gas station to the house :))

GasMisers5 Team

Report for 4/22-29.

CO ZX2. This week I had 2 roundtrips over a route I run often. Two mostly calm days. 95.7 mpg (73 miles) and 97.4 mpg (75 miles). My best by far. Overdrive.

The other 4 of my team had fillups this week, 3 of them had multiple fills. Those are noted in their gaslogs. Nice going, guys.

JanGeo 04-30-2007 07:42 AM

I was doing great 47.3 mpg tank until Friday when I had to run some really short trips up and down hills on really bummy streets for about a half mile each way but still not too bad and started house sitting 1 mile from office with a really tough driveway to turn around in.

SGII 4/28 end of day reading = 43.9mpg tank 4.2 gallons 183 miles 25mph average

One down one to go. I think you need to revise your goals:) 5 months ahead of schedule.
