Honda D13B info
Does anyine know what the d13B civic engines got for fuel efficiency? I know the 1.3L is 1343cc and it was sold in Japan. I want to know if this would be a good swap for fuel efficiency....I know where one is for sale....
Any other info would be appreciated....Thanks Kent |
Which car was it out of? Any specs on it? It sounds like it would be good if it was produced in an FE car...how much is it for sale for?

Edm
Sources tell me that it was developed for the European market for the Civic DX from '87-'91 for the D13B1, and '92-95 for the D13B2.
Power is around 75 hp at 5300 rpm, SOHC, 16V. The first gen had 9.5:1 compression and the latter had 9:1. Probably a few of them floating around in the UK... RH77 |
Well all I know is it is "complete" and for sale in Alabama. I was told to make an offer. I just wanted to know if it was a good economy motor or not... I know all d series have the 75mm bore and will accept other heads if they have valve reliefs.... I was thinking a d15z1 head and computer on the d13 short block.

You could always throw your current head on there. :)

You're absolutely right.....Do you think my OBDII HX ecu is smart enough to lean out the d13 or should I look into the d13 ecu and stuff....?
|
Eh...that's a bit tricky, mehbe someone smarter will chime in now because I'm too tired to think about it and still need to study. It seems you would have to do something custom. Though the stock d13b might actually be better, or even a d15b8 head on the d13b...

I do have a d15b8 that I got with my CX tranny and the ecu....

The Civic FE came with a modle number "EJ1" 1.3L engine, from 1980-83 and that engine size was last used in 1984 with the engine number of "EV" in the CRX 1.3 trim level, and in the base modle 1984 civic hatch back, and as far as I can tell, in the US they switched compleatly to 1.5L engines for all civics.

Oh yeah, I know I have asked this before but if I port out a VX intake's throttle body area can I bolt on my larger HX throttle body? I just want to know if all the sensor holes and stuff will line up okay....I have some crazy theories about lowering the powerband to the idle-3000 range.
