VX Cap and Rotor Q

Hi,
On my other thread I had a question about a VX cap and rotor but i thought i would post it here to see if any other VX owners would see it and respond.

I was wondering whether a cheepie auto parts store cap and rotor for the civic vx is good, or whether i should try and get them from a honda dealer. I know the spark plug wires are special, and i think i will get the wires oem from honda.

aftermarket cap & rotor

Hey James,

My opinion - cap and rotor don't need to be OEM honda. I replaced mine with Bosch and they work fine. Same with the spark plugs - I didn't get NGK - I went with Bosch also and no problems here either. I like the Bosch platinum electrode design - very cool. I have owned two VX's, driven for a total of 12 years and 190K miles.

I ended up getting napa parts for the VX. They seem to work fine, but i still have not fully solved the lean burn hesitation. am thinking o2 sensor is next on the list. it idles smooth and low now, though.
