88 CRX DX Auto Transmission fill plug?

I've searched Honda-Tech but I haven't found anyone that covered the fill plug on an auto tranny.

I found the drain plug no problem.

Is the fill plug on the drivers side of the tranny (when sitting in driver's seat) or on the passenger side?

I think that I have found it but am not 100%.

Pictures to follow shortly.

For context :

I am under the car facing forward. The part that I think is the fill plug is circled in red.

It doesn't fill from the dipstick?

You're right, there is a dipstick on the honda autos...I forgot because the manual trannys don't have them.

I do have a dipstick.

I just figured there would be a filler hole to get the right fluid level.

The only info that I could find for information regarding fluid capacity was for manual CRXs, I can't find anything for my 88 automatic.

Would having too much fluid in there harm the transmission?

Usually, you measure auto trans fluid level with the dipstick, on level ground, with the engine idling. It's not like a MT or a diff where you fill all the way up to the level of a plug.

I'm sure that having too much fluid could be harmful.

Indeed, too much is bad, you fill a bit, let it idle, fill more, so on and so forth.
