Reliant Robin - A production 3 wheeled car

Was watching some old episodes of Top Gear. On the space shuttle one they were using a Reliant Robin as the base. I had no idea that there was an acutal 3 wheeled production car. Looks like something like that could be fairly aero and support full wheel skirts.

That's pretty cool. What's cooler is the reported 100 mpg without sacrificing performance.

I see those from time to time around here!. They are made of fibreglass, so also weigh very little.

They are also rear wheel drive, which means there will be an axle where a regen / electric motor could
be added if converting to a hybrid!

With a suitable boat-tail, they would make an extremely good FE car (or electric car).

The last models, in 2001, came with CD player and electric windows as standard

This is what I would buy (boat tail would be much easier)

P.S. The Reliant Scimitar (a sports coupe, 4-wheel drive) came in a turbo version - this had the exact same engine that is in my Bluebird (as in my avatar!)
