Acetone Additive Poll
Quite simply, if you know what kind of oxygen sensor (if any) your car uses, please vote according to whether you have seen a benefit from adding acetone to your fuel.

Not a clue what kind of oxygen sensor my car has, but I did see a 2.45% FE increase (at least on the SG) with my experiment.
Don't know what kind of O2 sensor I have, but acetone makes about a 10% difference in the Green Machine.
Narrow band O2, better driveablity so far.
Don't know about the wide band or narrow, but OBD I cars no gain OBD II cars had a gain in mpg.
In previous vehicles ( 97 Dakota , 00 Focus , 99 SHO & 01 Cougar ) all had shown an increase in FE between 2-3 mpg . Better starts in cold weather and slightly smoother (subjective) idle . It does only take one stray drop from the funnel to ruin a nice paint job though - fuel savings becomes superfluous then .
ETA: I voted narrow band o2 |
