Sometimes it takes folks awhile to figure out what there time is worth to them. I figure my personel time is worth about $72 a hour. I prize my down time. Now if I could just get my boss to see this. :) |
I drive 120 miles a day during the work week and 60 miles a day on weekends. People have their own reasons for the decisions they make. If I didn't drive that many miles, I probably wouldn't worry as much about FE.

Public
The public is ready to admit the truth when...
they're ready to admit the truth. Sorry, to use Yogi Bara logic, but it seems to fit most news stories lately. Education in the reduction of fuel used is the obvious solution. In the meantime, Big Oil will set the price, and we'll buy it and really pay for it. Problem is...the Transportation Industry will take a hit. Companies who haven't hedged their fuel purchases (like the Independent Trucker) will end up taking a hit (and large Rail or Airline companies will benefit depending on when they placed the "futures"). Eventually, products will cost more because of higher fuel prices (or the excuse to charge more). Economists should chime in here. Higher fuel prices catch up eventually (especially when we forget about it...) RH77 |
Rick, you're absolutely right, but there's an old saying used in describing the way addicts continue their self destructive habits: "it doesn't hurt bad enough yet."
