Well, it runs at high ratios and doesn't complain, but I get no power and would be much better off with a D16Y7.

16.0 and 16.2 on the Civic, I lost a lot of power. At 16.2, I had a hard time climbing shallow hills and maintaining speed. At 15.7, I could gain a bit of speed, and at 14.7 (stock), I could accelerate rather nicely (albeit gently) up the same hills. I'm thinking that 15.7 is about the sweet spot in my car with my tranny end motor combo.

It sounds like you are changing the A/F ratio frequently. Can you change it on the fly? It would be nice to lean it out during steady cruise and gradually richen it as you need more power.

How did you connect this too your ECU? What is a serial converter? and how much did this setup cost?

Very interesting stuff! I am interested in doing this myself if the cost it not too extravagent.

The Zietronix has a 0-1V narrowband simulator output that would be fed into the ECU instead of the real narrowband O2 sensor. Since a narrowband sensor hits 0.5V at 14.7, the controller gives a 0.5V output at different programmed AFR's. The Innovate LC-1 has this feature as well.

I replaced my stock O2 sensor with the wideband. That is all. A serial converter is a USB<->serial converter. I had to purchase one as these asinine computer manufacturers rarely put serial ports on notebook PC's anymore. I spent about $400 on this.

I am not changing it all that frequently but did make a few changes on the road. It can be changed on the road, but the Zeitronix software honestly sucks. It complains that it can't communicate with the controller even though it can 1.) get real-time data as shown in the graph with NO problem, and 2.) can still set the AFR even though it says that there was an error communicating right after you click the 'Set' button.

My ScanGauge is now reporting .7GPH on a lot of hills that I go down in fifth but are too shallow to coast down. This allows me to get mileages "in the 80's" going downhill in gear while giving it gas, which I did *not* get before.

Atlanta -> Woodstock today, left at 15:15, 43.7MPG with a good bit of stop and go.
