Honda Civic GX

Does anyone here own a Civic GX? Just in case (doubtful though) you guys dont know, it's a natural gas vehicle. I've never actually driven or seen one, so I'm curious about it and other vehicles of its kind. According to fueleconomy.gov, the average fuel cost per yet is around $800. You couldn't even pull that off with a Metro XFI or a Prius....

So, how would you go about actually filling one of these cars up?

they have one place i think in CA that you can fill it up at. it isnt like a normal propane fill up place its one for exsperametal use only by a few people.

I know here in Salt Lake City there are a few gas stations that have Natural Gas hookups for NG vehicles.

a lot of the police cars in edmonton are natural gas. but they are the big crown vics, so don't think that they are getting the best millage.

Right but at $1.25 per gallon it wouldn't matter.

According to this and this the residential is at ~$1.63/gal energy equivalent. Course, I can't find anything on the differences in thermal eff between the GX engine and a gasoline engine... so meh? Seems to be better than diesel at $2.50/gal energy equivalent, but I'm not sure how average engine efficiency compares.

Thanks, bbq. I was wondering about that...

With it being a dedicated CH4 only vehicle, hopefully they have it fully tuned to optimize for CH4, and have efficiency at least as good as for a gasoline engine.

The MPG energy equivalent is nearly the same as a normal civic, 2-3 less I think.
