1998 Chevy Metro

I was considering buying a Chevy Metro since the Prism I was thinking about getting had already been sold. The guy said the car had 113,000 miles, new tires, cold ac, clean body, and everything else works. It's an automatic sedan. He's selling it for $2400. Nada has a clean retail value of $2650. KBB has it at $2495 in Good Condition. Edmunds has it at $1736 for a clean private party sale and $2547 dealer retail. Do you think I should make an offer on the car if everything checks out? If so what would be a fair price? Are these Metros any different from the Geo labeled ones? Are these still using a Toyota engine? Thanks for the help!

Don't get a sedan or an auto! Bad FE lies ahead!

Thanks. If I find a Chevy that is a Coupe are they good compared to the Geo?

The Geo was better because it had a 55 hp engine as opposed to a 70 hp one.

Same advice here: avoid the automatic Metros.

Either the 3 or 4-cyl 5-speeds will deliver decent MPG once you learn how to speak nicely to them.
