GM future "stuff": electric power steering
 
This article comes from "pickuptruck.com" and is mainly about how well GM trucks are doing in the marketplace, this link is to page 3 of 6. It talks about GM's future plans to increase fuel economy, one of them being going from a hydraulic steering to hybrid technology electric steering. This may mean going to a 42-volt power system for trucks for such a system, not just for the hybrids (which I know nothing about).

The fuel economy part starts at the second paragraph below the picture in the article.

They use electric steering on several car models. Save gas but makes for a terrible drive, no feel at all......
