New Family Truckster...Mini-MiniVan

Well if all goes according to plan, I will be recieving a new addition to my garage (GasSavers Garage). It is a 1995 Eagle Summit Wagon. Basically it can be described as a Mini-MiniVan. It is the sister vehicle of the Mitsubishi Expo LRV. I wanted something that sat at least 5 comfortably and had some storage and roof rack area for the Home Projects and Christmas Tree Transport etc. YET was a 4cyl 5spd for FE.

The drivetrain is a 2.4L Mitsubishi Engine mated to a 5spd Manual Transaxle.
It is the FWD Model and not the AWD. It is the LX Model and has the Power Equipment Goodies, Cruise and Cold A/C.

Although it has higher miles, I hope it provides me with a few years of service as the extra vehicle...who knows, if I can tweak the mileage...the Xtiva may become the back-up vehicle.

New Epa ratings aren't very high (just means there is alot of room for improvement :) ). City 19 Highway 25 and Combined 22mpg.

Here are a couple of pics (I will wait to add into the garage until the vehicle is in my ownership). I think it has some potential! ;)

I see your new ride uses "710". LOL

All went well, the Family Truckster is now under my ownership. The previous owner (from Virginia) drove it up to Pennsylvania (for a nominal fee) and I purchased him a bus ride back home. Haven't even driven it more than around the block yet, but it seemed decent. Tires will be one of the first items needed.

I dusted off 'XFI' tag and transfered it on this vehicle. Now I just need to get a new 'GasSaver.org' sticker for the back. :)

It's like an earlier generation of Snax's Mazda 5.

Maybe some taller tires when you do the replacement to get lower rpm at cruise?

It should be a really useful vehicle for you.

Eagle cars rock.

My Vision has been running great for 14 years, and never once given me a problem except the routine timing belt replacement.

Great Purchase

I love minivans (or even mini-minivans) with a stick shift. Great purchase! I've heard of these running forever too. Looks like the next generation Colt Vista... If so, you've got it made

So, is the roof rack going or staying???

It is the next generation of Colt Vistas. Both clones (Eagle Summit Wagon and Plymouth Colt Vista) are based off the Mitsubishi Expo LRV.

Roof rack is staying for right now. Down the line???

I've always wanted one of these (or the similar Mitsu model).

I actually looked for one a little while back when I was thinking of purchasing a new vehicle.

Oh yah, those VX rims look cool on the Festiva!

Thanks, had to swap the Aspire suspension to fit them (different bolt pattern).

I almost bought a 7 passenger (little longer) 92 Mitsubishi Expo (not LRV) 5spd instead of this, but it was a little to $alty for my taste. :o

From those pictures it seems to be in good shape.

Post up some pics when you get a chance?

I remember back when I first started high school a friend of mine had an AWD version of this car and one winter we wasted about a half tank of gas just doing donuts in a snow covered sand pit.

AWD donuts are fun.
