Has anybody ever tried heating the fuel in the fuel line for better atomization and a less dense fuel charge?

I'm not talking about extremely high temps. I wrapped my fuel line on my old Hyundai Accent a few years ago with heater hose that had hot coolant going through it and it seemed to help a bit while cruising on the highway. It took a while for it to get warm enough to help though (returnless fuel system).

I've heard of cooling fuel but not heating it up. it might form vapor lock though not for injectors or the ecm will dump fuel to make up for the low power(spread out molecules) ?? not sure.

Sounds scary to me.

However... fuel expands with heat. So the system would run leaner with heated (expanded) fuel. Until the O2 sensor picks up on the change, then it would stabilize things again.

Of course for diesels, warming the fuel could be a good thing. But I think you'd have to warm the fuel just to get it started.

thats why desils have block heaters

diesel block heaters warm the coolant(to keep the thick oil moving faster) . some extreme cold areas they install warmers in the fuel tank because the diesel fuel will gel up if cold causing no fuel flow.
