Huh? Porsche ad touts fuel economy.

WHAT is the world coming to? This morning I saw a generic newspaper ad for the entire Porsche lineup. The tag line was "Less is more".

Not surprisingly, the first line talked about their racing heritage, hinting at weight savings for performance gains.

What surprised me was the mention of fuel economy in the next line: "Even our cars not designed for racing are winning with less fuel consumption and more built-in quality."

Huh? Of course no attempt is made to quantify what this means exactly.

I think it's interesting that the ad agency and/or Porsche figures they can leverage consumer sentiments about conservation, or making do with less, to sell these cars in particular.

they might be trying to get that borderline market that could barely afford a porshe but figured they couldnt keep up with gas/insirance. thier makign it sound like thier cars in a crude way are more affordable. that and all the recent talks about gas prices in the news and well you know the rest. it has ppl thinking ina different way. maybe this is porshes answer to that.

Too funny. You can write your check to the World Wildlife Fund or the Sierra Club, and still feel good about driving a Porsche.
